Seeking Flood Relief Volunteers in Arkansas

UPDATE July 10, 2019: The church will not be having this work day on July 13. Instead, there’s some building projects that are being vetted that will need work in the coming weeks. We will reschedule this event once the date is set.

Prairie Grove First United Methodist Church is working with UMCOR to volunteer for relief efforts in the River Valley and South Arkansas on Saturday, July 13, 2019. At this point, we are seeking volunteers to sign up and commit to physically serving in these devastated areas.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and able to perform manual labor. The church will coordinate with volunteers to provide training prior to the work day. As more plans become concrete, we will communicate those details here.

$1,600 needed for relief efforts.

After a meeting with area churches last night, the first part of our relief efforts has been identified. There are old utility poles that are being donated by SWEPCO that can be turned into posts for fencing in Nebraska. Prairie Grove is committing to getting those poles to Chance Ridge. This will cost at most $1,600, and we need donations immediately. Please give online at or to your local church so that they can make arrangements.
