Update on March 19, 2020: All church gatherings, including worship, at our church physical facility are suspended at least until April 19.
In an effort to be proactive and help with social distancing, FUMC Prairie Grove is listening to the recommendation of the Bishop of the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church, the CDC, and other health and safety officials. Beginning Sunday, March 15, all in person activities at PGFUMC will be transitioned to online experiences. We plan to resume services and activities in our building on
Sunday, March 29. However, this may be subject to change as news develops. Please follow us on Facebook and our website for the latest developments.
This decision was not made lightly, but we understand that we have a duty to our congregation and our community to limit the potential spread of infections. Our church’s mission is to feed people, and as more families find themselves in need in the coming weeks, we plan to help meet that need. In order to do so, our members and regular attendees need to be as healthy as possible.
We also need our congregation to remember our tithes and offerings. Not only do we need to maintain our budget but we will potentially need more gifts to help support our community. With the loss of wages and potential school closures our mission to feed people will increase. We do not have funds to help people with rent or utilities, but we can provide food to relieve that expenditure. Online giving is the simplest way to continue to support our mission. As always you are welcome to mail checks as well.
